Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd. has been included in the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index developed by FTSE Russell.
The FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index is designed as a sector neutral benchmark that reflects the performance of companies demonstrating strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices in Japan. The index selects companies with higher ESG Ratings within the top 50% of each sector and supports climate transition to a low carbon economy by evaluating companies’ climate governance and climate change efforts via the Transition Pathway Initiative’s Management Quality Score.

FTSE Russell confirms that Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd. has been independently assessed according to the index criteria, and has satisfied the requirements to become a constituent of the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index. The FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index is used by a wide variety of market participants to create and assess responsible investment funds and other products.

The indexes are compiled based on MSCI’s newly developed Gender Diversity Score, which selects companies that excel in gender diversity within their industry sectors.
Companies that MSCI ESG Research assesses as having very serious scandals or serious scandals in the areas of human or labor rights are excluded.

Morningstar Japan ex-REIT Gender Diversity Tilt Index

Built with the data and scoring methodology of Equileap (Netherlands), the Morningstar (U.S.) Gender Diversity Indexes are designed to emphasize the stocks of companies that have strong gender diversity policies embedded in their corporate culture and that ensure equal opportunities to employees, irrespective of their gender. Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings was rated “Group 1,” the highest of the five levels.

SOMPO Sustainability Index

Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd. has been included in the SOMPO Sustainability Index created by SOMPO Asset Management Co., Ltd.
The SOMPO Sustainability Index is composed of approximately 300 companies that demonstrate outstanding ESG (environmental, social, and governance) initiatives. It is used for SOMPO Sustainable Management by SOMPO Asset Management Co., Ltd.
